These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Legacy Bench website, platform and services. Legacy Bench ("we", "our", "us") is a media, events and community platform that brings together entrepreneurs, founders, creators, professionals, investors, students and future leaders through conversations, events, podcasts, video productions, business listings, deals and digital content.
By accessing or using our website, creating an account, submitting content, applying to our programmes, or attending our events, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
1. Who We Are
Legacy Bench operates the website at www.thelegacybench.com and related media, events and community services.
For any questions about these Terms, please contact:
Email: info@thelegacybench.com
Website: www.thelegacybench.com
2. Use of the Platform
You may use Legacy Bench for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- Use the platform in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation;
- Post or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, misleading, fraudulent or infringes the rights of others;
- Impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or business;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other accounts, or our systems;
- Scrape, copy or reuse our content, listings or data for commercial purposes without our written permission;
- Interfere with the operation or security of the platform.
We may suspend or remove accounts or content that breach these Terms.
3. Accounts
Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information, keep your login details secure, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to create an account.
4. Community Content and Moderation
Members may publish posts, discussions, comments, business profiles and deals ("Member Content"). By submitting Member Content you confirm that:
- You own the content or have permission to use it;
- It is accurate to the best of your knowledge and not misleading;
- It does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
You keep ownership of your Member Content, but you grant Legacy Bench a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and distribute it on and through the platform and our associated channels for as long as it remains published.
All Member Content is subject to moderation. Content may be held for review before it is published, and material edits to published content may be re-reviewed. We may edit, refuse, unpublish or remove content at our discretion, including where it breaches these Terms or our community standards. Moderation decisions are final.
5. Business Listings and Verification
Businesses may create profiles on the platform. Verification of a business (including email verification) confirms only that we have checked the details provided to us at the time. It is not an endorsement, recommendation or guarantee of that business, its products, services or conduct.
Business owners are responsible for keeping their listings accurate and up to date, and for having the authority to represent the business. We may suspend or remove listings that are inaccurate, misleading or inactive.
6. Deals and Marketplace
Businesses may publish offers and deals through the platform. Unless we expressly state otherwise, deals are offered by the listed business, not by Legacy Bench. We are not a party to any transaction between you and a business, and we are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, availability or fulfilment of any deal, product or service.
Each deal may have its own terms, conditions, eligibility rules and redemption requirements set by the business. You should read them before redeeming. Any dispute about a deal is between you and the business, although we may remove deals or businesses that breach these Terms.
Prices are shown in the currency stated by the business. We do not convert currencies, and your bank or payment provider may apply its own exchange rates and fees.
7. Events, Programmes and Applications
We run and record events and programmes, including Pitch'd or Ditch'd. Applications to take part may be submitted through third-party forms (such as Tally). Submitting an application does not guarantee selection, a place, investment, or any particular outcome. Selection decisions are made at our discretion and are final.
Event details (including dates, times, venues and formats) may change. Where a time or detail is shown as "TBC", it has not yet been confirmed. We are not liable for costs you incur in connection with changes or cancellations, beyond any refund we expressly agree to.
Many of our events are recorded. By attending or taking part in a recorded event, you acknowledge that you may be filmed, photographed or recorded, and you agree that Legacy Bench may use those recordings and images in our media productions, channels and promotional material, unless you have agreed otherwise with us in writing beforehand.
8. Our Content and Intellectual Property
The Legacy Bench name, logo, website design, videos, podcasts, articles, interviews and other content we produce are owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and share links to our content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, sell or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.
Guests, interviewees and contributors remain responsible for their own statements. Views expressed by guests, members or businesses are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Legacy Bench.
9. No Professional, Financial or Investment Advice
Content on Legacy Bench — including interviews, stories, pitches, discussions and deals — is provided for general information and entertainment. Nothing on the platform constitutes financial, investment, legal, tax or other professional advice, and nothing is an offer, solicitation or recommendation to invest in any business. You should seek independent professional advice before making any financial or business decision.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The platform links to and uses third-party services, including YouTube, Tally, Voxbie and social media platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, services, content or their terms and privacy practices. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
11. Disclaimers and Liability
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that content (including Member Content and business listings) is accurate or complete.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity arising from your use of the platform, attendance at events, or dealings with businesses or other members.
12. Privacy
Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with its update date. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own country.
15. Contact
If you have any questions about these Terms, contact us at info@thelegacybench.com.
