The Business Owner Who Turned Adversity Into Opportunity

Angela Parmar

Gazelle Embroidery & Print

Angie is the owner of Gazelle Embroidery & Print, a Bolton-based business specialising in high-quality branded workwear, teamwear and embroidered and printed clothing for businesses and sports clubs.

Her journey is one of resilience, reinvention and the determination to build something on her own terms. Following her divorce, Angie continued running the business independently, transforming it from a garment wholesaler into an embroidery and print company with a renewed focus on helping organisations present themselves professionally.

But rebuilding a business meant more than changing its services. It meant changing herself, too.

Naturally shy and far more comfortable working behind the scenes, Angie found herself having to develop skills that once pushed her well outside her comfort zone. Sales, networking, marketing and public speaking all became part of her role as she worked to establish the business and build relationships with customers.

For Angie, growth has often meant doing the things that feel uncomfortable, learning as she goes and finding the confidence to step forward even when it would be easier to remain in the background.

As the owner of a small business, she understands the reality of wearing multiple hats. From finance and production to customer service and sales, every aspect of the operation requires attention. While balancing these responsibilities can be challenging, the experience has strengthened her adaptability, resilience and appreciation for the relationships that keep a business moving forward.

At the heart of Gazelle Embroidery & Print is a simple but powerful belief: every garment carrying a customer's logo also carries her reputation.

Whether supplying branded workwear for a local business or teamwear for a sports club, Angie understands that clothing represents more than a uniform. It communicates identity, professionalism and pride. That is why she places such importance on quality, consistency and attention to detail.

Her ambition is to grow Gazelle into more than a supplier. She wants it to become a trusted workwear partner that businesses can rely on, offering a straightforward ordering experience, dependable service and the reassurance that every order matters.

Rather than looking to one particular industry figure for inspiration, Angie admires entrepreneurs who have the courage to reinvent themselves, embrace new opportunities and continue growing without losing sight of their values. Their journeys reflect the kind of business owner she strives to be: adaptable, determined and grounded in what matters most.

But Angie's story is about more than business growth. It is also about personal development, discovering confidence and recognising that being naturally shy does not mean you cannot become a strong salesperson, networker or leader.

Her journey is a reminder that you do not need to have everything figured out at the beginning. Sometimes, building a successful business means learning new skills, backing yourself and taking one uncomfortable step at a time.

Her mindset is simple: do the job properly, look after your customers and build a business people can trust.

Three Words to Describe Angie: Honest. Hardworking. Humble.
